  • What grade levels do you support?
    For the 2026-2027 school year, Athena will offer space for 6th-11th grade students. Entering in 12th grade can be a challenging transition, but we are willing to have a conversation to see what makes the best sense.
  • What does a hybrid program offer?
    Hybrid means that we offer a full-time program and also part-time options for families who seek flexibility.
  • Is Athena Micro-academy of Austin accredited?
    We will soon be accredited! More soon.
  • Will Athena Micro-academy of Austin be listed an an approved vendor in Odyssey under the TEFA program?
    Yes! If you are looking to apply to Athena Micro-academy of Austin, please complete your TEFA application before the March 17 deadline and you can select Athena at a later date.
  • What is the student to learning coach ratio? 
    There are 10-12 students per learning coach.
  • Does Athena Micro-academy of Austin offer an after school program?
    Yes, we offer an after school program option from 3:30-5pm with a variety of fun activities for unstructured free time. Some of these unstructured activities include board games, video games, reading time, and student clubs. Students may also use this time to continue their independent studies or personal initiatives.
  • How do you assess student progress?
    There are various ways we measure student growth and accountability, listed below. For enrichment courses, students keep portfolios of their work. 
    • Students participate in MAP Growth testing three times per year.
    • Students regularly review their progress maps/reports and set new goals.
    • Students design intentional short and long-term goals.​
  • What school calendar does Athena use?
    Athena Micro-academy of Austin is a year-round program with intercessions along the way. We operate on 6/7 weeks "on," 2 weeks "off" cycle. This allows for year-round engagement for the students and convenient breaks during off seasons for quality family time! Please note that Athena reserves the right to make weather, emergency, and sick days adjustments as needed. Please have a back up plan lined up for your child/ren.
